Before the main event takes over Cinquantenaire Park this September, Brussels Urban Sessions is turning up the heat across the city with a brand-new series of events: the Takeovers by Urban Sessions.
Three free, high-energy pre-events designed to bring urban sports, music and street culture directly into the heart of Brussels.
• May 30 : TAKEOVER #1 – Basketball 3x3 (Place du Congrès)
• June 13 : TAKEOVER #2 – BMX Freestyle (Skatepark Tour & Taxis)
• July 4 : TAKEOVER #3 - Skateboard (Skatepark des Ursulines)
For one day each, these iconic urban spots will transform into vibrant playgrounds where sport, creativity and culture collide. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to enjoy BMX demonstrations, urban sports showcases, competitions and initiation sessions, offering a first taste of the adrenaline and atmosphere that define Brussels Urban Sessions.
As the sun goes down, the energy keeps building. Each takeover will also host an afterparty in collaboration with local music collectives, turning the venues into dancefloors and highlighting the strong connection between urban sports, music and street culture.
More than just warm-up events, the Takeovers by Urban Sessions officially launch the countdown to Brussels Urban Sessions 2026. The festival will return from September 11 to 13, 2026 at Cinquantenaire Park, featuring a world-class BMX Freestyle competition alongside a full celebration of urban culture in all its forms.
